Obituary for Alphonse Joseph Lance

LANCE, Alphonse Joseph III - Peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 in his 93rd year. Alphonse Lance of Pembroke, beloved husband of 73 years of Anita Marie Lance (nee Fortier). Loving father of Dennis (Sandra) Lance, Cindy (Ted) Brownson, Colleen Rutz, Deborah (Charles) Arseneault, Perry (Suzanne) Lance and Patricia (Andrew) Hemlin. Caring grandfather of Wendy, Tammy, Corrigan, Kristian, Stephanie, Felicia, Joshua and Susan. Caring great grandfather of Katelyn, Cassidy, Zachary, Kennedy, Eric, Benjamin and Kellan. Caring great great grandfather of Orion. Dear brother of Josephine (the late William) McDougal, Leona (the late Ernie) Raymond, Parnell (Ethel) Lance and Marlyn (Roger) St. Goddard. Al and the love of his life, Anita enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping, hunting, travelling and spending time with his family. He had a quick wit and great sense of humour, right to the very end. As he had engraved on his own tombstone many years ago, he has now “Gone Fishing”. Prior to retirement he was a power engineer with the Department of National Defence. He was a member of the Institute of Power Engineers and a passionate member of the Upper Ottawa Valley Steam Show Association. The family will receive relatives and friends at the

on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Pembroke on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke. The family would like to recognize Dr. Baxter, Bayshore Home Health, Access Healthcare Services and the LHIN for their care and support.
