Jim/Fred and family, very sorry to hear about your mother. I recall seeing her at the nursing home that your father and my mother were living at a few years back. I always remember her being independent and in control. She was cut from a cloth that unfortunately we rarely see anymore, parent/wife/community organizer etc etc. Hopefully the many good memories of her will carry you thru this difficult time.

Katie I am sorry I am so late in sending my condolences to you and your family on your Mom's passing. I used to see her often at Lourdes when I was visiting my mother and we would enjoy a nice visit and catch up. It would be great to reconnect Katie if that is possible.

To The Morris Family:

I was saddened to learn of your mother's passing late last week. Please accept my sincere condolences at this difficult time.
Your mother and I worked together for twenty years and I will always remember and cherish those happy and enjoyable times. How she survived some of those days in the constituency office remains something of a mystery to me. But she seemed always to enjoy meeting and helping Valley people. For Mary Morris, good citizenship and public service came naturally. She had a particularly warm spot in her heart from those who had been disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control. Mary believed that a good community was a caring community and she was quick to support good causes. She loved her family, was very proud of her children and their many academic, musical and athletic accomplishments. She was also proud of her Ottawa Valley Irish heritage which helped me appreciate her dry sense of humour. Much to my chagrin, she had that uncanny ability to get to the nub of an issue in very few words - something I have yet to master. Mary Morris played an enormously important role in making my public life possible and I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. Let me say in conclusion to her family that it was an honour for me to have worked with her for so long and so happily.
