This is very sad. I met John when he and his brother, Tom, were running the weekend dances in the bingo hall at the Point Road Plaza in Petawawa back in 1963/'64. I was playing with a band called the Royal Tones, and we got to know John pretty well. He was well respected both as a priest and a counsellor, and he will be missed by many.
